Star Wars Galaxies Closed This Year
Sony Online Entertainment with LucasArt take a joint decision to shut down the server Star Wars Galaxies after operating for 8 years in December this year. A sensible decision, as soon Star Wars: The Old Republic by BioWare will be released. Of course LucasArt see this is a reason to clean up the server Star Wars Galaxies and forcing the players to migrate to the Star Wars: The Old Republic will be.
According to the head of Sony Online Entertainment, John Smedley, the decision was not taken because fewer players in Star Wars Galaxies. He also said there would be no layoffs, because the team Galaxies will be transferred to other projects.
